About roller blinds

A roller blind is the simplest way to dress a window, and the one we fit most. Each blind is cut to your window and fitted inside the recess or across the frame, and choose the fabric with you in your own light, because a white that looks crisp in a sample book can look grey on a north-facing window.

What comes with it

  • Measure and fabric samples at home
  • Blackout, dim-out, light-filtering and wipe-clean fabrics
  • Side chain with a tensioner, or a cordless spring
  • Recess or face fit, cut to the millimetre
  • Child-safety devices on every cord or chain, fitted before we leave
  • Old blinds taken down and taken away if you like

Best rooms for them

Bedrooms that need dark mornings, kitchens and bathrooms, and any window where you want a clean line and nothing fussy.

Looking after them

Dust with a soft brush or a vacuum on low. Wipe-clean fabrics take a damp cloth.

How roller blinds are fitted

The same three stages for every window, with one fitter from the measure to the last check.

  1. 1. Choose the fabric

We hold samples up at the window so you see the colour and the light it lets through.

  2. 2. Cut to your window

Each blind is cut to the millimetre for a recess or a face fit.

  3. 3. Fitted in minutes

Most roller blinds take about twenty minutes a window to fit and check.

Roller blinds: your questions

Will a blackout roller blind make the room fully dark?

The fabric blocks the light, but any blind fitted inside a recess lets a little light round the edges. Fitting across the frame, with an overlap either side, makes the room much darker.

Can I have a roller blind in a bathroom?

Yes. We use a coated, moisture-resistant fabric that wipes clean and does not hold on to steam.

Chain or spring?

A side chain gives smooth control on wide or heavy blinds and comes with a tensioner. A spring blind has no cord at all, so it suits children’s rooms.

When suits a visit?

A preference, not a booking. We call to agree a time.

Where should we reply?

Just a name and one way to reach you.

We use it only to arrange your visit.

A bay window, a skylight, parking or a colour you want to match.
